Lesson Planning
Below are a selection of lesson plans which exemplify my approach to teaching and learning. Included in the sample is one lesson plan from each unit available on the website. Each plan includes relevant artist references, and plans the resources, materials, and pacing of the lesson with a rough outline of time allotted for each activity being provided. The lesson's learning objectives, success criteria, and differentiation tactics are clearly laid out, putting the students at the centre of the plan.
Teaching
“Art, craft and design defines a set of practices that are fundamental to society, a network of useful, pleasurable, challenging and potentially transforming acts that shape the environment in which we live.” - (Addison and Burgess, 2015,)
As an artist, researcher, and teacher, I think education is where the most change can be made. I aim to create a learning environment that inspires and empowers students to explore both independently and collaboratively, gain new knowledge and perspectives, share ideas, take risks, and create opportunities in an inclusive environment by focusing on student-centered experiences. This can be seen in the units of learning created available below from placement one.
Unit of Learning

Students will select areas of interest from these drawing studies to create experimental abstract water colour. Informed by the research gathered students will create A4 abstract acrylic wash on primed MDF Board.
Ceramic Unit of Learning

The theme revolves around the exploration of emotions. through the work of Franz Xaver Messerschmidt.
