"Scabious my Emotion's," 2021

PAINTING | PHOTOGRAPHY

“A painting is simply a screen between the producer and the spectator where both can look at the thought processes residing on the screen from different angles and points in time. It enables me to look at the residue of my thinking.” —  (Grosse, 2017).

The module's theme was "scabious my emotion's," reflecting the loss of a loved one. The artwork was inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe's Black Iris, Katharine Grosse Untiled 2000, and Yayoi Kusama's Infinity Mirror Rooms, female artists who selflessly opened their hearts, surfaces, and spaces for the viewer. The incorporation of organic forms and natural elements like moss, branches, and leaves to create interactive fine art. The overall goal is to raise awareness about ecotherapy and inspire others to think deeply about their relationship with nature, promoting personal growth and healing and good mental health.

A mixed-media artist who employs performance art to investigate trauma recovery through nature. My second year creative process is driven by my mother's love of gardening and focuses on parenting, trauma, emotion, and childhood. Through the concept of communicating emotions, I became interested in the flower and growth as a subject matter. As a response, I created a performance piece in which I pulled, chewed, and rubbed flowers to represent internalised anguish. I am concentrating on how I am physically displaying my internalised emotion, establishing a barrier between myself and the observer. It also permits the performer to express these emotions without being identified. The usage of flowers to express hidden feelings and de-stress is included into performance art.
